Deputy Chief Bryan Bullock
Bryan Bullock was hired to serve the department as it's Training Officer in August of
2008. He was the first to hold the Training Officer's position in a full-time status. Since
becoming the Training Officer, Bryan was promoted Deputy Chief's position. Bryan began his employment
with Barrow County in 1997 as a Paramedic with the ambulance service. Bryan transferred to the fire
department in 2000, where he served as the station chief of Bethlehem Fire Department for two years. In 2002,
when Fire and EMS combined, Bryan was promoted to Lieutenant and he continued to serve the department until
December 2006, when he left Barrow County for a Captain's position with the new Sandy Spring's Fire
Department. After a year and a half, Bryan returned to Barrow County.
As the department's Deputy Chief, Bryan is responsible for managing the daily operations of the department.
Bryan coordinates the daily operations through the departments three Battalion Chiefs who manage and supervise the
day to day functions of the departments eighty four employees and six fire stations. He is
also responsible for maintaining all of the department's training records and ensuring all employees receive
the required amount of training hours as required by the department and the State of Georgia.
Bryan began his career in the Fire Service as a Junior Firefighter with the Arcade Fire Department in 1990, where
his father was the Fire Chief. He obtained his basic firefighter certification in 1993. Bryan holds an Associates
Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management. Bryan is currently an adjunct
instructor for the Georgia Fire Academy, and he has previously worked for Lanier Technical College as an adjunct
instructor in the Fire Science Program. Bryan, his wife Karee, and their son Bryson live in Jefferson.
