Barrow County Emergency Services participated in a job shadowing program
through Barrow County Schools this spring by having one student ride along with different
personnel. “We had been approached several times over the last few years,” commented Lieutenant
Scott Dakin. “When I was approached about this student I spoke with Interim Chief John Skinner
and we decided to do a pilot program.” read more

they know that a great group of campers will be coming to Barrow County for a truly enjoyable week.

On May 5, 2010, a letter was sent to Barrow
County Emergency Services to advise them of that the United States Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) has awarded them the Assistance to Firefighters Grant for FY2009. read more
